Who We Are
We’re here to fuel your journey.
We founded our business in BC, and it’s grown to branch out across the best province in Canada. We grew up driving these roads, and when we built our business, we built it with the people who use them the most in mind.
Our Values
Safety
We believe in being respectful of the people around us. And that means conducting our business in a way that keeps them healthy and safe. It’s one of the reasons we’re so strict about safety protocols and environmental regulations, and it’s why we monitor road conditions and marine vessel traffic management.
That respect extends to our staff.
Our team keeps us moving forward, and we couldn’t be more grateful for them. Keeping them safe and healthy is the least we can do in return.
Environment
When you primarily store and distribute fossil fuels, you need to concern yourself with doing it responsibly. We love the planet we live on, and we want to make sure we take care of it well enough that it can keep taking care of us.
We run a waste oil and plastics return program out of nearly every city we operate in. Just drop off your waste oil and plastics at one of our bulk plants or cardlock locations, and we’ll take care of it. If you aren’t sure if the location you have in mind handles recycling, find it in our service area map and call ahead.
Continual Growth & Education
Our team is the best, but they didn’t get there by accident. Knowledge, growth, and training are mainstays for all of our staff because we’re excellent at what we do, and we intend to stay that way. When you’re working with fossil fuels, staying on top of safety policies, environmental developments, and technological progress is critical, so training for us is always ongoing.
Community
We’re a family business with families of our own; giving back to the community that we love just feels natural. If you’re looking for either ongoing support for your organization or a one-time contribution for an event or initiative, you can reach out to us with our donation request form, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Mission
At Jepson, we’re determined and dedicated to conducting our company according to the highest standards of health, safety, and security while ensuring that the protection of the environment remains in constant focus.
We enable and encourage our staff to be well trained, skilled, knowledgeable, dedicated, professional and courteous in dealing with clients and the public.
Working closely with our associate company, Petro-Canada, we will respect and comply with municipal, provincial and federal government regulations to achieve shared goals, to enable the Company and to meet or to exceed the expectations of our shareholders, staff and clients.
Vision
To be the #1 fuel and lubricant provider for Northern BC.
History
Everyone has a journey, and ours started in 1992. We’ve always been a family business at Jepson, and it all started when Chris and Dave Jepson opened shop in Cranbrook, BC.
Back then, Jepson’s operational territory encompassed the Eastern Kootenays from Sparwood to Cranbrook and up to Golden. Ready for a new adventure, we expanded into Southern Calgary in the early 2000s. Operations then split into a separate legal entity in 2010, headed by Dave while Chris continued to manage our British Columbia operations.’
In 2013, we took the plunge and came north. Chris sold the southern BC sites, and he, along with Dana and Kyle Jepson, purchased locations in Prince George, Quesnel, Williams Lake, and Mackenzie.
In late 2023, Jepson purchased Sand Bulk Transport’s Prince George business, and by now, we’d started growing, and we weren’t ready to stop.
Northwest Fuels Acquisition
Northwest Fuels is a Northwest BC business to the core. They know the roads, they know the people, and they know the local industry. And now, we’re taking the next steps of our journey together.
Northwest Fuels was founded by Doug Ames and Dave Pruden, who grew up in Terrace, BC. They brought their decades of experience in the long-haul driving and marine industries to build a company that values family, customer service, and safety.
We acquired Northwest Fuels in 2024, and we’re proud to say that they’ve fit in seamlessly with us here at Jepson. We look forward to seeing where our journey together takes us.
The Road Ahead
Today, we run one of the most expansive, family-owned fuel supply networks in BC, serving over one third of the province, and we’re not planning on slowing down.
